Espai Kaala

Espai Kaala is a Barcelona dance space specializing in Kathak, the classical dance form of North India. Classes are led by Núria Cabo, who holds a Sangeet Praveenacharya diploma from the Prayag Sangeet Samiti Conservatory in Allahabad, India, where she trained for years, performed with professional Kathak companies and taught at multiple schools in Varanasi before bringing her practice to Barcelona. Lessons progressively build up the techniques that define Kathak, including intricate footwork, arm movements and spins, alongside choreographed pieces often drawing on themes from Hindu mythology. Beyond regular Kathak instruction, Espai Kaala also runs occasional workshops in other classical Indian dance styles, and the space additionally hosts yoga and creative arts programming.
