Núpura

Núpura is a Barcelona-based cultural association and dance school founded in 2012 by Shreyashee Nag, an engineer turned professional Kathak dancer, alongside director Aditya Bhattacharya, a filmmaker and writer with roots in Indian cinema. The organization’s mission is to build cultural, social, academic and business bridges between Spain and India, and it has partnered with the Indian Embassy in Spain, India’s Ministry of Culture, Casa Asia and the Barcelona city government on cultural programming. On the dance side, Núpura teaches a wide range of styles including Kathak, Bharatanatyam and both traditional and contemporary Bollywood, alongside Hip-Hop and Heels classes, a children’s pre-dance programme, plus tabla percussion and singing. The association has also organized large-scale Indian dance showcases in the city, bringing together bhangra, classical and modern Bollywood, Kathak and kids’ performances under one show.
