Neighbourhood and town festivals: giants, fire-runs, human towers and long street dinners. Almost everything is free — just turn up.
Giants parade today (Thu 24) at 10:30 in Plaça Sant Jaume, 100+ free concerts, a Shanghai-themed drone show, castellers on Sun 27 at noon, then the pyromusical on Sunday night by the Poblenou beaches. Lots of museums open free for Mercè — check the programme for which days.

One of Catalunya's biggest Festes Majors wraps up today with human towers at lunchtime, the Santa Tecla correfoc at night and a closing firecracker "traca" at 23:45.
Reus's patron-saint day: the festive procession and the descent of the Ball de Diables devil dance. More than 150 acts across the festival, most of them street events.
More than 100 activities, including the Nit de Foc on the Rambla d'Aragó and a closing fireworks show over the Segre at 22:00 on the 29th. Entry to the Seu Vella is free on the 29th.

About fifteen city museums are free on the first Sunday of every month. Picasso and the CCCB need an online booking, and MNAC is free only from 10:00 to 15:00, so book the Picasso slot early.
The 13th edition moves indoors to Gran Via, with Bavarian decor, live bands and Paulaner on tap. General entry is reported as free; table bookings, food and drink are paid.

India meets Catalunya: 75 govindas from Mumbai's top Dahi Handi teams build human towers in the heart of castells country, invited by the Castellers de Vilafranca to mark 20 years of exchanges. Part of the Spain–India Dual Year 2026.
Hindustani vocalist Amol Nisal, with Amit Mishra on tabla and Anik Mishra on sarangi, alongside the Nupura Kathak Ensemble directed by Shreyashee Nag. It opens a three-day Gandhi Jayanti celebration by Nupura Centre for Indian Performing Arts.
Learn from the visiting artists. On Saturday, a Hindustani vocal workshop with Amol Nisal or a tabla masterclass with Amit Mishra (€40 each). On Sunday, a Kathak and laya intensive with live tabla and sarangi: open level €25, advanced €40.
Vishal Chaturvedi's 150-minute Hindi biopic follows a grieving young man who wanders temples, forests and villages and becomes Neem Karoli Baba, known as Hanuman Ansh. It's showing in Hindi with English subtitles, a rare chance to see a devotional Hindi film on the big screen in Barcelona. Only two dates are listed so far, so book early.
Fundación Indian Culture Centre is running a free trial Kathak class for children aged 6 and up, ahead of its autumn term. It's an easy way to give kids a bit of classical dance from home.
Just outside this week's window, but plan now: nine nights of Garba and Dandiya start on Sunday 11 October. We haven't seen any 2026 Barcelona Garba nights announced yet, so confirm each organiser's programme before you travel.
