From 1 July the Autoritat Metropolitana del Transport (ATM) is preparing the compensation mechanisms of unused tickets, owing to coronavirus.
If you have not been able to use your integrated ticket with an expiry limit, owing to lockdown, you can recuperate your journeys of these cases, in the following way:
1. Automatic compensation:
If you have a monthly quarterly ticket, which you have not used since before 14 March, simply pass your ticket through any validator, when you take public transport. The expiry date will automatically be extended for the period of days equivalent to the transport ticket.
2. Compensation through the form:
If you have a monthly or quarterly ticket that you started to use before 14 March or during the state of alarm and you have used during lockdown to go to work or to provide an essential service, consult whether you have right to compensation, through this ATM web from 1 July. From 1 September, you will obtain a specific ticket for the period of journeys to which you have a right. You can do this process during the rest of the year, without consulting in person.
For other tickets that do not have a validity deadline, such as the T-casual, you can continue to use them until the journeys run out.
Please note that the new extended valid period will start counting from the moment you pass your expired ticket through one of the network’s access machines. If you don’t need the ticket immediately, wait until you need it and make the most of it. You can extend the validity of your expired ticket throughout the whole of 2020, until 31st December.
