First China, then other Asian countries and finally Europe. As any concerned
family, we have been observing how COVID19 has spread across geographies
over such a short period of time. Like everyone else, we’ve been preparing for the
worst and hoping for the best. We were attempting to get involved in helping
our society in many ways, let that be by understanding and communicating
correct news about COVID19 or just providing mental support to our family and
friends.
In Spain, as the numbers started getting up, our willingness to do something
that could help our community more also went up. After talking with our friends
at architecture school, we learnt about this novel project of the 3D printing face
shields for our protecting doctors, nurses and other health care practitioners
from the virus.
They say the best ideas come when skillsets meet intent! That’s what
happened, within the next 20 mins we went from learning to execution mode.
We bought six 3D Printers, after raising 2000+ euros through family, friends,
acquaintances and like-minded people.
Our frontline heroes, healthcare professionals, have been tirelessly working to
provide care. Knowing that we are protected by them, gave birth to this
opportunity for us to protect them. Thanks to this inspiring project coordinated
by Covidmakers.cat and we are humbled to be part of it!
Since then we have produced more than 300 pieces of Face Shields, Face
Masks, Support for surgical masks & door openers.
