Catalan is genuinely the main language of instruction in Catalunya's schools, and Spanish is also official — but your child does not need to already know either language before starting. Schools are genuinely set up to bring children to full fluency in both over the course of compulsory education, and English is taught from the early stages too, with many schools offering additional plurilingual programs. Three Types of Schools, Genuinely Understood

Públic, concertada, privada

Public (públic)

Genuinely free — every child living in Barcelona has a right to a place in the public system at no cost. Follows the official Catalan curriculum.

Concertada
