La Tomatina 2026The Ultimate Bucket-List Adventure
The world's greatest food fight. 150 metric tons of tomatoes. 20,000 people. One glorious hour of pure chaos — from Barcelona with Kaur Tours.
Every year on the last Wednesday of August, the sleepy town of Buñol — 40 km west of Valencia — transforms into the most colourful battlefield on Earth. Trucks loaded with ripe tomatoes enter the Plaza del Pueblo, a water cannon fires at noon, and for exactly one hour, 20,000 participants pelt each other with tomatoes purely for the joy of it.
What started as a spontaneous scuffle during a local parade in 1945 has grown into an Official Festival of International Tourist Interest. Since 2013, attendance is strictly capped at 20,000 — entry is by official wristband only, and they sell out months in advance.

Booking La Tomatina solo means navigating transport, wristbands, lockers, and post-fight showers. Kaur Tours handles all of it — one price, zero hassle. Languages: English, Spanish, Hindi, Punjabi.
Squashing each tomato before throwing is mandatory — this rule exists to prevent injury. A hard unripe tomato at speed hurts. Crush them first. Everyone's there for fun, not injuries. Street showers run by the fire department wash everyone down after the battle.
